Grace Darling was born, in the village of Bamburgh on the north east coast of the British Isles, on 24th November 1815.  This daughter of William & Thomasin Darling lived along with 9 siblings on the Longstone Lighthouse.  She became famous, along with her father for rowing out in North Sea gale force winds to rescue 9 survivors from the paddle steamer Forfarshire in September 1838.  She died in her father's arms on 20th October 1842 (aged 27 yrs).  Very little is known of her teenage years so I've taken poetic license and composed this story based on the few facts I could find.
