an adaptation of the Carlo Collardi story of Pinocchio
The story of Pinocchio has been told and interpreted many times – the main character is made of wood by Guisseppo a toy maker who sells his coat to buy him a school book so he can be educated.
However, instead of listening to good advice given him, he decides to sell his book for a ticket to the puppet theatre. From this moment on many adventures befall the boy, causing him more trouble taking him into a series unfortunate circumstances involving a fox, cat, plus a group of mischevious teenagers.
Granted, Pinocchio's intentions have always been pursued with good intentions, to make his father proud and all the while, his exploits are being overlooked by the Blue Fairy who had granted Gesseppo's wish for a real boy, albeit a wooden one. All ends well though, when he saves his father's life, so the Blue Fairy turns him into a real boy.

In writing this version of the Pinocchio story, one of my main concerns was to make this musical as affordable as possible. I’ve retained the main nucleus of the writer’s original story, but to make an easier stage production I've taken poetic licence by adding my own narrative with additional characters.
For the purpose of continuity and changes of scenes, the whole show can be performed using 3 mobiles and a centre tab.
This famous classical story will always be a family favourite and Disney's interpretation will never be surpassed, however bringing such a production to the stage is the kind of challenge I enjoy.
As all of my musicals, I try to create a production well within a reasonable budget, thereby opening more opportunities to young performers in the local community, schools and colleges.
